Farmers for Action campaigners accuse Britain’s biggest retailer of importing milk to make dairy products rather than using domestic suppliers

Tesco is to hold talks with farmers after campaigners blockaded distribution centres at Avonmouth and Widnes to protest against the supermarket group importing dairy products from outside the UK.

In the latest stage of the row about the pressure on Britain’s dairy farmers, campaigners have accused the country’s biggest retailer of importing milk to make cheese, yoghurt and other dairy products rather than using domestic suppliers.
